Speaker: Christina Pirello, Chef and Whole Foods Expert

Our featured guest speaker is whole foods chef and PBS cooking show host Christina Pirello! Christina is one of the country's pre-eminent whole foods experts who has dedicated her life to demonstrating the health advantages of natural, whole food vegetarian eating! In addition to teaching whole foods cooking classes, publishing six cookbooks, and serving as the Emmy award winning host of the PBS TV series "Christina Cooks", she is also the founder of the The Christina Pirello Health Education Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to changing Americans' relationship with food through education and outreach.

Exclusive Food Vendor: Rich Landau and wife Kate Jacoby of Vedge with their new venture, V-Street

Philadelphia native Rich Landau and wife Kate Jacoby opened the award-winning Vedge restaurant in Fall 2011, after many successful years operating its predecessor Horizons. Vedge offers a classically elegant dining experience with a progressive, bold approach to cooking. In 2013, Rich was declared best chef by Philly Magazine and Vedge was named as one of GQ Magazine's 12 most outstanding restaurants.

Rich continues to push the envelope of cutting-edge cuisine with a successful cookbook and a winning appearance on popular Food Network show "Chopped". The Vedge family will also expand innovative plant-based cuisine with newest restaurant "V Street" - a self described "street food bar" - set to open later this summer or fall on South 19th Street in Rittenhouse. According to Rich, "V Street" promises to deliver "Bold, spice-forward flavors drawing on the great street foods of the world"

Speaker: David Coman-Hidy, Executive Director of The Humane League

David is the Executive Director for The Humane League. He oversees the national and local outreach, education, and corproate efforts of The Humane League's staff.

David will be speaking on how to become an effective advocate for veg eating and the lessons that he has learned from his years of campaign experience.


Speaker and Cooking Demo: Chef Rachel Klein of Miss Rachel's Vegan Pantry

A Bucks County native and now South Philly resident, Rachel Klein started Miss Rachel's Pantry in 2007, to fill a need for homestyle eats. Since then, MIss Rachels has grown to include a full service catering company; four-course communal dinners at their Farmhouse Table, a meal deliver service and cooking classes. Rachel excels in providing the vegan and foodie community in Philadelphia with delicious and healthy "oven to doorstep" veg eating options year-round.

Speaker: Sara Glassman of Vine Dining

Sara Glassman is a Certified Natural Chef and owner of Vine Dining, through which she teaches people how to cook deliciously and nutritiously. She teaches cooking classes to breast cancer patients through the Healing Consciousness Foundation, has regular segments on Arcadia University's web series Health and Wellness, and writes a food column for the fitness magazine, AKWA. This summer she will be the Executive Chef at Camp Zeke, a sleep-away camp for kids with health and fitness values. 

Musical Guests: Evan Cline Band

Evan Cline Band formed 3 years ago and has played throughout the Mainline and Delco Area at local bars. They are an acoustic band including their own original music as well as covers of Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Coldplay, One Republic, and more. Evan Cline Music continues to grow a fan base of over 2.5K internationally in the US through Youtube and Facebook. The band plans to book an East Coast tour this summer, as well as release their first album this fall.
