On the Foie Gras Front

They call themselves Professionals Against Foie Gras (www.pafg.org) - 300 strong - and they're champing at the bit for City Council's return next week so they can lend support to Councilman Jack Kelly's proposal to ban the sale of foie gras in Philly. Foie gras is the outsize liver of a force-fed duck or goose. PAFG is a grassroots effort to rid restaurants of the "cruelly made product" and to support eateries that don't serve it, says Center City lawyer Elissa Katz, an organizer. Kelly aide John Cerrone says Kelly will get new Council members up to speed and will try to introduce the bill this term.
