The Humane League of Philadelphia is an all-volunteer organization and as such, we rely on the compassion and dedication of our volunteers to achieve gains for animals. We always appreciate new volunteers, and our primary need is for support and attendance at veg outreach events and protests. There is also periodically the need for assistance with office work. Please note that we are not a shelter, and we do not typically have animals that need to be cared for.

If you're interested in getting involved with us, please follow these three easy steps:

1) Sign up for our e-list. This is the best way to get involved and get updated about the events we have going on. You can sign up right now by entering your email in the appropriate box in the bottom left side of this website. Emails are only sent out one time per week, so you will not be inundated with emails, and we never share our email list with anyone else.

2) Come out to events! Events are where help is most needed and most appreciated. They are also a good place for you to get to know us and vice versa. Don't be worried if it's your first time giving out leaflets or attending a demonstration - everyone has a first time, and we promise we'll make you feel right at home!

3) If you have any particular questions or interests, email us. If you can't attend events but have particular skills or interests, drop us a line. However, if you email us please be sure you intend on following through as a volunteer. Since we do not have any paid staff, it's important for us that we can rely on our volunteers to do what they say they will do. Click the "Contact Us" tab on the left for our contact info.
