Humane League In The News

The Humane League of Philadelphia’s work for animals has recently gotten some press attention in NJ and national media!

The Gloucester County Times and NJ.com published a fantastic article on the Humane League’s new VegNJ.com site and the grown of vegetarian eating.

”Beef: It's what (used to be) for dinner. As the number of herbivores in this country has climbed, traditional meat-and-potatoes meals have given rise to an influx of vegetarian options in grocery stores and restaurants.”

Meanwhile SmallAnimalChannel.com (published by the same company that puts out Dog Fancy, Cat Fancy, etc) discussed the Humane League’s rescue of 57 lab rats in a recent article.

”Across the country, in
Pennsylvania, a group of 56 lab rats from Arcadia University faced a similar plight. The university contacted The Humane League of Philadelphia to help re-home lab rats that they otherwise would have had to euthanize.”

Veg Outreach at Fourth of July Festival, Plus IMPORTANT Foie Gras Demos and more

Please join us for veg leafleting at the Fourth of July festival on the Ben Franklin Parkway this Friday! This will be the fifth year that we’ve conducted veg outreach at the festival, and it always proves to be a successful time with a large crowd and interested responses! We will be meeting at 2:30 pm sharp by the front doors of the Moore College of Art and Design on Race St. between 19th and 20th Sts. From there we will walk into the festival to do outreach. If you have problems finding us before the event or need to arrive late, please call 484-904-6004 once you have arrived, or just find us on the Parkway. The festival is followed by a parade and fireworks, so come out, do some great work for the animals, then enjoy the rest of the festivities!

Mann Center for the Performing Arts in Fairmount Park. We will be leafleting from 6:30 to 8 pm, please email us at info@thehumaneleague.com if you are interested in joining us!
